Against the backdrop of worsening demographic trends and Germany’s economic situation, the enormous potential and significance of out-of-home catering for the restaurant industry will be highlighted. The aim of this series of studies is to raise awareness among politicians, society, and the media of the economic and social importance of the out-of-home market on the basis of current figures.
The two previous studies focused on the general importance of out-of-home catering and individual catering (substudy 1) on the one hand, and communal catering (substudy 2) on the other. This study will focus on daycare and school catering. Online questionnaires and interviews are used to gather information on the services offered, customers, cost structures, and challenges.
