ISInova has been evaluating the mediation center in Frankfurt (Oder) since 2003. The mediation center is a XENOS project, which has been funded by the EU since 2001 and will come to an end next year. The project has set itself the task of strengthening and promoting tolerant coexistence in the border region on the Oder, which is characterized by diverse social problems. To this end, various sub-projects are being carried out, such as the training of mediators and conflict mediators in schools, tolerance training with citizens of the region, and networking activities. The aim of the evaluation is not only to examine whether the objectives have been achieved, but also to develop recommendations for the further design of the project after XENOS funding ends.
